Meet the Austin Team Behind Mercer Roofing Co Austin
Every roof we work on in Austin gets touched by the same four sets of hands, and that’s deliberate. We don’t farm work out to random crews. The people who show up at your door are the people whose names are on this page, and they’re the people Grant Whitlock trusts to put a roof over your family the same way they’d put one over their own. Austin’s weather doesn’t mess around. Neither do they. Between hailstorms in Round Rock, cedar pollen eating at fasteners, and sun that bakes shingles until they curl, this crew has seen it all and fixed most of it. They badge in at the door, they call you by name, and they don’t leave until the roof is right.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been the first one up the ladder on Mercer Roofing Co Austin jobs since 2015. He came up doing residential re-roofs in Dallas, then moved south because he wanted to work somewhere with real weather. Austin gave him that. Marcus is GAF certified and handles most of our flashing and valley work, which is exactly where leaks like to start. He can spot a nail pop from the sidewalk, and once spent forty minutes explaining ice dam theory to a homeowner who didn’t have ice dams, just because the guy asked. His truck is cleaner than most kitchens. If Marcus tells you your decking is fine, your decking is fine.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena runs installs, which means she’s the person keeping the tear-off on schedule and making sure the underlayment goes down smooth before the first shingle ever leaves the bundle. She started roofing at nineteen, worked her way through three crews before she landed at Mercer, and went Owens Corning certified four years ago. Elena can carry two bundles up a ladder and still stop to point out where your old decking got soft around the chimney. She’s also the reason our job sites get swept with a magnet at the end of every day. Her rule is simple: if the homeowner finds the nail, the job isn’t done. Her words.
Danny P. – Service Coordinator
Danny is the voice on the phone when you call Mercer Roofing Co Austin, and he’s as much a part of the crew as anyone on a roof. He’s been with the Threshold Group family of companies since 2018. Danny keeps the schedule honest, walks homeowners through the written price before any work starts, and never rushes a question about a warranty or a second visit. He also dispatches the tech photos and names before anyone shows up, so you know exactly who’s at your door before they knock. Danny keeps a notebook with every Austin neighborhood’s permitting quirks in it, and yes, he actually updates it. We don’t know where he finds the time.
Sam W. – Apprentice
Sam is the newest member of the crew, and he’s been running material, sealing penetrations, and learning to tie off properly since day one. He started with Mercer in 2024 after two years doing commercial flat work, and he’s working toward his CertainTeed certification now. Sam grew up in Cedar Park and learned roofing from his uncle, who apparently still calls after every storm to ask if Sam’s company does free inspections. Sam asks good questions, which matters more than anything on a roof. He also once identified a leak source by the pattern of staining in the attic insulation, and Grant bought him lunch for it.
One Standard, Every Job
Every technician who puts on a Mercer Roofing Co Austin uniform is background-checked, identity-verified, and held to the Threshold Verified standard, which is the Threshold Group quality framework each independently owned location is contractually bound to. That standard is exactly what it sounds like. Each person shows up in a clean, marked uniform with a photo ID badge in hand, and their name and photo are sent to you before they ever pull into your driveway. Then the real test starts. A written price before any work begins, always included, never conditional. A written guarantee on every repair, with a free second visit if the repair fails. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise backing all of it, because if the work isn’t right within a year, Mercer makes it right. Marcus and Elena don’t need a contract to tell them that. It’s the only way they work.
